"Event of the Year" in Tatarstan on the basis of the Republican Theatre Award "Tantana"   became  the play "Kara Polat" ("Black Chamber") staged  by  Tatar State Theatre of Drama and Comedy  named after K.Tinchurin  and "Hodja Nasretdin"   by G. Kamal Tatar State Academic Theatre.

The motto of this festival - "Theatre as a means of understanding and peace between  peoples" - fully comply with the specifics of theater art in the Republic of Tatarstan, where it  successfully operates and interacts  with representatives of various theater schools, gets creative development of the best traditions of dramatic, musical and children's theater.
The prize is awarded for the fifth time, traditionally, on  the International Theatre Day - March 27.
Guzel Azatovna Nigmatullina shared information about the preparations for the festival. Currently, this process, she said, is in full swing, and enters its active phase. Already, the directorate of the festival received 160 films - applications for participation.

The solemn ceremony continued  by  watching the show "Kara Polat" ("Black Chamber"). This opera legend was created at the initiative and with financial support from the National Fund for the Revival of historical and cultural monuments of the Republic of Tatarstan.

 The first day of the festival "Folk melodies " -   a competition day. It will take place on  March 23. Audition  of  teams will continue throughout the day.
Michael Kazinik - musician, art, culture expert, writer, director, actor, professor of Dramatic Institute in Stockholm, a leading expert of the Nobel concert, author of numerous television and radio programs and extraordinarily erudite man.
