Directorate of XI Kazan Film Festival has received more than 150 films-applications for participation

The organizing committee of the Kazan International Muslim Film Festival (KIFMC) starts   work on the formation of the program in 2015. Collection of applications has begun in September 2014, immediately after the jubilee X  Festival. As of March 20, 2015, Directorate of  KIFMC has  received more than 150 films - applications for participation.

 

Among the submitted works - films from Iran, Turkey, Bahrain, Jordan, Tunisia, Uzbekistan, Russia. Traditionally,  the attention  is attracted  by  movie-co-production - for example, this year an interesting film co-production of  Turkey and Ukraine has come.  Part of the applications have been collected during the visit of Cinematographers of Tatarstan to  Turkey and Iran, as well as with the help of consultants and promoters. By  number of declared works,   a "full length"   is led  in fiction  and nonfiction films. Receipt of applications will continue until July 1.

 

The films accepted  by the selection committee will  be included in a main competition of the festival poster 2015, another submitted movies  that have not been in competition, may be shown under non-competitive programs. In addition,  extensive parallel programs   are planned, such as:

 

- A program of contemporary Yugoslav cinema on the theme of cultural interaction during and after armed conflict;

 

- A program of documentary films about the educator-muslims (with accompanying lectures);

 

- Films  by  directors from Northern Europe;

 

- A program of  films, film adaptations of famous literary works (dedicated to the Year of Russian literature);

 

- Followers of world film festivals in a program "Window to Europe";

 

- Films on the theme of emigration.

 

The practice of pre-viewing  film competition program  to be continued, followed by a discussion of the media and  RT cultural communities. Work is in progress on the creation of a special program for young filmmakers, in which master classes  by guests and participants of the festival on the theory and practice of cinema to be held.

 

A contest for the manufacture of statues, the main prize of the Kazan Film Festival   was announced. To participate in the competition until April 25,  sculptors, painters, designers, architects and creative groups, including students in higher and secondary vocational institutions in areas of "architecture", "design" and "sculpture"    have been invited.   Preference will be given to the work presented in the form of models and sculptural models (scale 1: 1) or in the form of solid models made in 3D - format.

 

One of the most important requirements for the layout - matching figurative art solutions of  key objectives, ideology and the motto of the festival "Through the dialogue of cultures to the culture of dialogue." The winners  receive a cash prize of $ 100 000, the draft will be embodied in the prize statuette, which will be awarded to the winners of XI festival in ten categories.

 

Kazan International Muslim Film Festival is held in the capital of Tatarstan since  2005. The first festival was organized by the Council of Muftis of Russia, Federal Agency for Culture and Cinematography of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan with the support of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan.

 

During its existence the festival has acquired the status of a prestigious forum of  filmmakers became an inherent part of the cultural life of Kazan, event, contributing to strengthening the image of Kazan as a cultural capital.

 

Kazan International Muslim Film Festival is held under the motto "Through the dialogue of cultures to the culture of dialogue."    The  XI  KIFMC   will be held in a capital of Tatarstan in September 2015.
