20 March 2015, Friday

Today  a press conference on the opening of the All-Russian Festival "Folk melodies" has been held at the G.Tukai  Tatar State Philharmonic

The Festival "Folk melodies " originates from the eponymous contest  of  ensembles and orchestras of folk instruments, which this year celebrates its 10th anniversary.

The mastermind behind the competition is People's Artist of Russia, Honored Artist of the Republic of Tatarstan, professor Anatoly Shutikov.

Since 2015 "Folk melodies" - a National Festival.  At present, the first in this format folk music festival,  well-known, popular artists in this genre have been invited. The main aim of the festival is to popularize the genre of folk professional music.

The first day of the festival "Folk melodies " -   a competition day. It will take place on  March 23. Audition  of  teams will continue throughout the day. To participate in the competition have applied ensembles and orchestras of folk instruments from Moscow, Kaluga, Samara, Yoshkar-Ola, Ufa, Naberezhnye Chelny, Nizhnekamsk, Ekaterinburg, Saratov Oblast,  the  Republic of  Mari El  and the Republic of Mordovia. Number of participants - more than 400 people.

At a meeting with journalists Anatoly Shutikov noticed that in recent years the applications for participation in the festival-competition were  more. "Perhaps this is due to the financial difficulties of collectives. Each year to participate in this festival for many teams can be expensive. There are orchestras and ensembles, which in previous years tried to get to this contest, and this year have  not applied, "- he said.

"Created by Anatoly Ivanovich in 1989  the orchestra of folk instruments, later received the status of the State one,   is the best orchestra of folk instruments in Russia. "And the fact that on the basis of this orchestra festival has  originated, quite naturally," - said the director of the Tatar state philharmonic Kadim Nazyrovich Nurullin. - If the artistic director and conductor of the National Academic Orchestra of Folk Instruments named after Osipov  Nikolai Kalinin  Center, a mecca of Russian folk orchestras and ensembles was in Moscow,  now the center  is  here  in Kazan. This is undoubtedly merit  of  Anatoly Shutikov and consequence of his skill and popularity. This year we have expanded the scope of the competition before the festival, with the participation of famous bands and singers in Russia. Concert tickets sold out a month in advance. So,  there is a great demand for good folk music and the promotion of the music at a good level. "

The question  how  what are  the principles   the participants are invited to the festival program Anatoly Shutikov said: "The public have long asked to put" Metel (Blizzard) "by Alexander Pushkin. And we decided that Vasili Lanovoy , one of those actors who may very well present this work. Pushkin's poetry and music  by Sviridov is a perfect interlacing   of the  greats  must captivate a spectator.    We would like to invite  an  unknown before in Kazan  collective - the choice fell on the State Ensemble "Rossiya " named   after Lyudmila Zykina. The ensemble  is  small but very professional one. It has long been a desire to invite Petersburg "Terem-Quartet" - the team with the original, interesting arrangements.  We have combined our orchestra and "Terem Quartet" , and have got  a synthesis of "competing" musicians.  I think,   for audience  it    will be interesting to listen to. The ensemble of the Don Cossacks - one of the favorite  by  the public among  the Russian collective. They   are  incendiary, temperamental, interesting. Only from just such principles - professionalism and popularity among the listeners  create a list of guests of the festival "

The festival, according to the director of  Philharmonic rather not to  become   International  one. Since   it is  aimed at promoting orchestras and ensembles of folk instruments of the Russian space, the press service of the Tatar state philharmonic reports.
