The VIII Kazan Muslim Film Festival is over .

People’s Artist of Russia, Soviet and Russian film director Andrei Konchalovsky, Taganka Theatre head Valery Zolotukhin, film director Alexander Orlov and his spouse Alla Budnitskaya, as well as many others, walked on the red carpet. The closing ceremony was hosted by the granddaughter of the Tatar poet Musa Jalil, Lilian Navrozashvili.

The fourth day of cinema festival was marked by a long awaited show of the film «Poterya (Loss)» by Ildar Yagofarov – history on quiet loss of a whole generation of Tatars, expressing in absence of succession of culture and self-awareness.

A general press-conference of VIII Kazan international festival of Muslim cinema took place a press conference of directors of films, participating in nomination of short-length documentaries of contest program.

The new building will be an office and culture centre, as well as a venue for informal meetings.
An official ceremony of opening a House of Friendship will today take place in Kazan.

On the basis of VIII Kazan international festival of Muslim cinema a new cultural project cinema museum «Zvezdnaya Rukopis» (Star Manuscript) has opened.

From August 15 to September 21, the VI Republican theatrical festival of national classic drama named after Karim Tinchurin is to be held at a theatre of drama and comedy after K. Tinchurin.

August 18, at 11.00 a.m. a traditional fest of arts «Saidashstan» is to take place in a village Kyzyl Bairak of the Verkhneuslonsky region». A concert is dedicated to a founder of Tatar professional music, an outstanding composer Salikh Saidash.

From August 24 to 30, 2012, the VI International youth folklore festival is to take place in Kazan. The organizers of the festival come to be RT Ministry of culture and choreographic ensemble «Happy childhood».

On August 10, at 12.00, a TV bridge Chelyabinsk –Kazan within the framework of national contest of beauty and talent “Tatarochka-2012 “ will be held in a press center of the newspaper Komsomolskaya pravda

From July 27 to August 19, an exhibition of the winners World Press Photo contest of photo-journalism will take place at «Ak Bars Gallery».
