Exhibition of winners of WORLD PRESS PHOTO 2012 contest is due to open at «Ak Bars Gallery»

From July 27 to August 19, an exhibition of the winners World Press Photo contest of photo-journalism will take place at «Ak Bars Gallery».
The exhibition represents about 200 works by the winners of the most prestigious in the world contest of photo-journalism World Press Photo, which final 55th times was held in Amsterdam in February 2012. The exhibition reflects the most important events of 2011.

World Press Photo – the most reputable international annual exhibition of photo-journalism, which is much determines the standards of profession. Each year international independent jury, consisting of professional mass media photographers and photo-editors, evaluates the works by contenders in 9 various categories, represented by photo-journalists, agencies newspapers and magazines of all over the worldа.For two weeks the jury members have viewed 101 254 photos by 5 247 authors from 124 world countries. The laureate of the first award of this year – «Photo of the year» is named photographer Samuel Aranda from Spain.
