House of People’s Friendship opens in Kazan

The new building will be an office and culture centre, as well as a venue for informal meetings.

An official ceremony of opening a House of Friendship will today take place in Kazan.

The new building of the Assembly of Tatarstan Peoples is located on the Pavlukhina street. The five-storey industrial-type edifice is substantially bigger than the previous one. It has a state-of-the-art negotiations room, a conference hall, library and an information centre. The interior has a minimalistic yet stylish design.

Representatives from various peoples can with the help of satellite television stay in touch with their homeland. They will have an opportunity to watch programme in their native languages.

“We now have a full-fledged concert hall seating 300 that will have excellent equipment,” centre’s director Irek Sharipov said to Tatar-inform earlier. “The Tatarstan’s national and cultural associations will hold concerts here.”

A room of memorable gifts is planned to be opened in the house as well. The building will therefore be both an excellent office and cultural centre, as well as a venue for informal meetings.
