Today the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov got acquainted with the progress of reconstruction and restoration of a number of significant objects in the historical center of Kazan.
One of the objects that Rustam Minnikhanov examined was the Kazan Theater for Young Spectators (Youth Theater, Ostrovsky, 10). Together with the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan Irada Ayupova and the director of the Youth Theater Aigul Gornysheva, plans for the development of the complex of buildings of the Youth Theater were discussed.
Today this theater is in need of renovation. Rustam Minnikhanov got acquainted with the current state of the object, examined the auditorium and other premises, the courtyard.
GBU "Kazan Theater of the Young Spectator" is located in the former building of the Oriental Club (merchants' assembly), it is an object of cultural heritage of regional significance of the late 19th century. With the support of the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan, emergency and repair work was carried out here at different times. In connection with the expansion of the area, it was decided to create a Theater and Cultural Complex on the basis of the Youth Theater.
Rustam Minnikhanov was presented a project for the development of the entire complex of theater buildings. Explanations on the project were given by the director of the Institute of Architecture and Design of KGASU Karina Nabiullina. In particular, a summer amphitheater, a small auditorium, playgrounds for children's creativity, a theater cafe, etc. can be created here.
Rustam Minnikhanov stressed that each site should be in demand, first of all, by spectators and visitors, including children, should be paid for. In addition, he believes, it is important to preserve the historical appearance of buildings.
The Koltso shopping and entertainment complex was built in 2006 in the city center on the site of the historical building of the Muzurovsky rooms, where Tatpotrebsoyuz was located in Soviet and post-Soviet years, next to the Tatarstan hotel and exit to Bauman street and to the Tukaya square metro station. Rustam Minnikhanov, having familiarized himself with the project and the materials proposed for facade finishing, generally approved the concept. He instructed to work out in more detail the project for each block of the complex and to make a presentation of the final version - given the high interest of citizens in this object of urban architecture.
The last building for today was the GIDUV building at the Butlerova-Mushtari intersection. Earlier (in May 2016), Rustam Minnikhanov gave instructions to start the reconstruction of this cultural heritage site of republican significance. The historical building was built in 1914 for the Kazan branch of the Noble Land Bank according to the architectural design of the military engineer Golyshev. Restoration work is in full swing here today.
