June 23 - 24, the Days of the Kyrgyz cinema will start at the cinema Mir. The program features the best national full-length and short films that have become laureates of international film festivals.
June 23, at 4 pm, the grand opening of the Days of Kyrgyz cinema with the participation of the creative group, representatives of the ministries of culture of Tatarstan and Kyrgyzstan will be held. The film-opening will be a picture of the director Sadyk Sher-Niyaz "Kurmanzhan Datka", which became the best full-length feature film of the XI Kazan International Muslim Film Festival. The film tells about Kurmanjan Datke, a glorious daughter of the Kyrgyz people, who at the end of the nineteenth century ruled the Alai region of Kyrgyzstan. At the cost of her life she defended the freedom and independence of her people from the oppression of the great powers: the Kokand Khanate, the Russian Empire and China.
