In Kazan, tour of the St. Petersburg Theater "Masterskaya (Workshop)" begins

From  June 1 June to 7  in Kazan, on the stage of the Kazan Academic Russian Grand Drama Theater named after V. I. Kachalov, in the framework of the "Big Tour" program of the Federal Center for Support of Touring Activities of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, the tour of the St. Petersburg Theater "Masterskaya" will be held.

 The St. Petersburg Theater "Masterskaya"  opened in 2010. The basis of the actor's troupe of the theater became graduates   of the actor-director's course of SPbGATI under the guidance of Professor G.M.  Kozlov. Works of the training workshop of the Theater Academy have outgrown the scale of popular student performances and have been moved to a new theater place  on the Neva embankment on Narodnaya street. Thus was born the "Masterkaya ", already established troupe with a diverse and substantial repertoire and great plans for the future. In the first seasons performances of the theater "Masterskaya" has conquered  both the public and critics. In 2012, the theater was given the status of state  one.

"Workshop" lives and works on the principles of the Russian psychological theater, paying maximum attention to the person, his deeds and aspirations, invariably believing in man and humanity. This attracts its viewer. Actors of  "Masterskaya" is not alien to the experiments - dramaturgic, visual, conceptual, but the most diverse productions on the most diverse material unites one - a sincere interest in human being, the human soul and personality.

Performances and actors  of the theater "Masterskaya" have  repeatedly   been awarded state theater awards and independent prizes. The artistic director of the theater is Honored Artist of Russia Grigory Kozlov.

The federal program "Big Tour" has been implemented for the fourth year already. As part of this program, the St Petersburg Theater "Masterskaya" visited Rostov-on-Don, Ryazan, Irkutsk and Ulan-Ude. The arrival of the young theater in the capital of Tatarstan will be a great event and a holiday for Kazaners.
