Preparations for the congress of the Tatar people were discussed at the Ministry of Culture

Deputy Minister of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan Guzel Sharipova, Director of the State Friendship House of the Peoples of Tatarstan Irek Sharipov, director of the holiday concert Maksim Skalozubov and officials of the ministry responsible for  preparation of the forum took part in the meeting held by  Minister of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan Airat Sibagatullin.

The main task of the forum is  unification of all nations, nationalities and communities,  support of their languages, culture and spirituality,  preservation of interethnic peace and harmony in Russia. The first congress of the Tatarstan peoples was organized in 1992 – at the   initiative and with the participation of the first President of the Republic of Mintimer Shaimiev. The result of this meeting has become  appearance of Association of National Cultural Associations and the First House of Friendship of Peoples  in the republic.

This year,  the congress to be held on April 22 in Kazan. Besides, 700 delegates from Tatarstan, guests from the federal center, other regions, as well as from abroad were invited. It is expected that representatives of about 200 peoples living in the territory of our republic will take part in a plenary session. Within the framework of the forum, a photo exhibitions "Many Faces of Tatarstan" and "We Are Part of Russia", as well as expositions of Friendship Houses of Nations and arts and crafts will be arranged. The congress will end with a gala concert, which will be held at the Theater after  M. Jalil.
