First International Scientific Conference "Traditional Culture of Turkic Nations in a Changing World" will be held in Kazan

The Republican Center for  Development of Traditional Culture and the Kazan State Conservatory named after N.G.  Zhiganov, with the assistance of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Russian Foundation for Fundamental Research  are holding the 1st International Scientific Conference "Traditional Culture of Turkic Peoples in a Changing World". The main goal of the conference is to activate the humanities scientists to solve the problems of language, folklore, ethnography, ethnomusicology, literature, history, socio-cultural and socio-political development of Turkic-speaking peoples in the context of spiritual and cultural consolidation.

On April 13, the plenary session will take place at the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan. 

The beginning at 10.00am.

Scientists of scientific centers, university teachers, heads of cultural centers, representatives of foreign countries (Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan) and regions of the Russian Federation (the Republic of Chuvashia, the Republic of Bashkortostan, the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), Karachaevo -Cherkess Republic, Republic of Altai, Republic of Dagestan, Kabardino-Balkarian Republic, Republic of Crimea)  will take part in conference.

The work of the conference will be conducted in five sections:

Section 1. Material and spiritual culture of the Turkic peoples.

Section  2. Ethnic history and traditional culture of the Turkic peoples.

Section  3. Interdisciplinary aspects of the study of traditional culture.

Section  4. Actual problems of studying Turkic languages.

Section  5. Problems of ethnomusicology, ethno-choreology and folklore performance.

The program also includes exhibitions and roundtables.

Round Table "Intangible Cultural Heritage of Turkic peoples:  identification, conservation and research."

Specialists in various fields (dialectology, ethnographers, culture experts, philologists, folklorists and others.) will share their experience in  studying  traditional culture of the Turkic peoples,  discuss issues of priorities and measures of the state support and preservation of intangible cultural heritage, try to determine the principles of identification and fixing   intangible cultural heritage of the Turkic peoples, consider the issues of systematization and study of  traditional culture of the Turkic peoples, as well as  debate  conservation and study of the Turkic languages.
