The "Crystal Compass" - a prize in the field of national geography, ecology, preservation and popularization of the natural, historical and cultural heritage of Russia. Its nominees are both private individuals, as well as enterprises, scientists and public figures whose research, projects and activities open new grounds for the pride of the Motherland to the general public.
Within a month, every Internet user can vote for any number of projects in "Recognition by the public" nomination, but only once a day. Laureates in other categories are selected by expert council.
This year, 389 projects and achievements have been put forward for a prestigious award - this is an absolute record for the entire history of the award. The geography of the Crystal Compass has expanded considerably. Applications for participation came from 68 regions of Russia, as well as Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, India, Monaco, Norway and the USA. In the final of the national award were also Tatarstan projects in the field of culture:
- A series of historical and cultural atlases in the municipal districts of the Republic of Tatarstan (State Budgetary Institution "Center for Cultural Heritage of Tatarstan", Institute of Archeology named after A.H. Khalikov of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan, Institute of Tatar Encyclopedia and Regional Studies of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan.)

- Tatar ritual culture in children's creativity "Khozin"
Tatarstan projects have repeatedly won this prestigious award. Among the holders of the Crystal Compass the project "Tatarstan at the fingertips" of the Republican Special Library for the Blind and Visually Impaired (2015).
