Libraries of Tatarstan pass to Single Reader's Ticket
The project to introduce the Single Reader Ticket, launched in January 2017 by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan jointly with the Ministry of Information and Communication of the Republic of Tajikistan, as well as state and municipal libraries, is gaining momentum. More than 1400 libraries of the republic serve readers on a single ticket. We remind that the project, which is part of the state information system "National Electronic Library of the Republic of Tatarstan", is aimed at simplifying procedure for servicing citizens in the libraries of the republic, as well as the systematization of work and accounting of library services.
A single reader's ticket is a plastic card with a personal barcode. It allows readers, after registering in one of the libraries, to be served in the entire library network of the republic without re-registration. Moreover, along with the ticket, the reader is given a login and password to the personal cabinet of the portal "National Electronic Library of the Republic of Tatarstan" and free Wi-fi in state and municipal libraries of Tatarstan.
Today in the state information system "National Electronic Library of the Republic of Tatarstan" a single database of literature of all republican and municipal libraries has been formed. In this regard, the portal user has the ability to search and book a book of interest without leaving home. Moreover, the GIS "National Electronic Library of the Republic of Tatarstan" is integrated with the system "Electronic Education of the Republic of Tatarstan, thanks to which the process of enrolling students is automatic. In addition to the system, the State Archive of the Republic of Tatarstan, as well as the libraries of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan and the GAPOU "Interregional Competence Center - Kazan Technical College of Information Technologies and Communication" are connected to the system. In the near future, all libraries of institutions of secondary vocational education, as well as higher educational institutions, are to be connected to the system.
It should be noted that since the beginning of the year more than 54 thousand citizens have registered in the information system "The National Electronic Library of the Republic of Tatarstan", to which more than 23 thousand single readers' tickets have been issued. Every day more than 273 Tatarstanians receive them. Most of the readers at the moment are schoolchildren (34 832 people or 63% of readers).
A single reader's ticket of the Republic of Tatarstan can be obtained in any public library of the republic for free.
