In Kazan, an expanded meeting of the Academic Council of the National Museum of the Republic of Tatarstan to be held

March 17, at 10.00,  on the day of  foundation of the museum  an expanded meeting of the Academic Council of the National Museum of the Republic of Tatarstan will be held. It consists of leading scientists from   Institute of History  after  Sh. Mardzhani, Institute of Language, Literature and History after  G. Ibragimov and  Institute of Archeology named after A.H.  Khalikov of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan, Kazan Federal University, Kazan State Conservatory named after N.Kh. Zhiganov, Kazan Institute of Culture and other scientific and educational institutions.

The meeting will present  results of the scientific activity of the RT NM for 2016,  and  results of joint work with scientists in study and acquisition of museum collections to be sounded,  prospects for further cooperation to be  outlined. Among the immediate tasks: discussion of actual historical topics and their reflection in exhibitions and displays  dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Great Russian Revolution and the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Tatar SSR.

In addition, the meeting will discuss a long-term strategy for  development of the museum until 2030, which includes completion of the reconstruction of the Gostiny Dvor complex,  creation of a new modern storage facility with a system of open funds and a permanent exposition on the history, culture and nature of Tatarstan.

Within the framework of the meeting there will be a presentation of the catalog of the inter-museum exhibition "Pushkin and Kazan: Kazan collections in museums of Russia", as well as rewarding members of the Scientific Council of the National Assembly of the Republic of Tatarstan.
