Mintimer Shaimiev celebrates birthday today

First President of Tatarstan,  State Counsellor of the Republic  has turned  80 years old today.

Despite his  age, Mintimer still is conducting  an active social life, leading the Republican Fund of reviving Tatarstan monuments of history and culture. His contribution to the restoration of historical monuments cannot but  overestimated. Since 2010, Mintimer Shaimiev  has been  overseeing  a comprehensive project for the restoration of the ancient Bolgar and island-town Sviyazhsk. In 2015, with the support of the  Fund for Revival and  direct participation of Mintimer Shaimiev, President of Tatarstan  a decree  is being implemented  on the reconstruction of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Kazan and the construction of the Bolgarian Academy of Islam.

Remembering your famous phrase "We can," it is necessary  to add - "We will have managed to  work together with You." You are a manifestation of the creative force that brings new life to our ancient monuments and unites people in good, without exaggeration, in a  great cause.

You, being the first President of the Republic and a wise leader, have managed for the whole world to glorify  the Tatar people.

What we have today, and  by what our republic  is famous  - a rich cultural and historical heritage, strong international relations, tolerance towards representatives of other nationalities - the result of your great work.

Your wisdom, boundless energy, a selfless dedication and your human qualities are amazing and are an example for all of us.
