Over the last year   global changes  took place here: significantly a collection has enriched - nearly a third,  more  visitors since  now -  the  disabled can now easily enter the rooms. The museum became a participant of the program "Available environment". But the biggest change - on the second floor. There are new historical areas and even room - "County town" with an improved layout of the security area of the  Yelabuga State Museum-Reserve with  all 184 objects of cultural heritage. For each staff   historical information with photos has been prepared. But "Interactive Workshops" for the convenience of visitors, including children and elderly people  moved to the first floor.

In addition, historical zones were equipped with multimedia features, including - LED-applications with information panels. The museum also organized local audio zones, which  immerse  guests in the epoch of  which  this or that part of the exhibition informs.

All this became possible thanks to the support of the Russian Federation Ministry of Culture in the framework of the federal target program "Culture of Russia ( years 2012-2018.)" and a grant of the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan. Much of the work  has been  carried out  by the  museum at their own expense, according to the museum's press service.
