Events dedicated to the New Year, started in mid-December. They were organized by theaters, Houses of culture, museums and municipal districts.
Only theaters agencies during this period held more than 450 events, of which about 380 - for a children's audience. This was reported at the briefing "On holding the New Year and cultural events in the Republic of Tatarstan in December 2016 and January 2017" that was held in the Cabinet, said First Deputy Minister of Culture Elvira Kamalova.
Public theaters showed 357 performances of these children - about 300. 72,000 spectators have watched them.
The museums and museum-reserves held interactive sessions, creative workshops and the exhibitions. Total, in December and January more than 400 New Year's representations was carried out and visited by over 12 000 children.
Much work on holidays was organized by cultural bodies of the executive committees of municipalities, together with cultural institutions of regions and cities, rural settlements. In each rural and urban cultural and leisure facilities music and game programs were organized, meetings in museums, theatrical events, Christmas quiz in libraries, various competitions and games, as well as widely New Year's festivities and street parties at the central squares have been held.
