In Kazan, a gala concert   of the III Republican interuniversity students' festival "Day of the Republic of Tatarstan foreign student"   took place.

The participants of the festival  have been welcomed  by    RT Deputy Chairman  of RT  State Council Rimma Ratnikova. "Almost nine thousand foreign students studying in the Republic of Tatarstan, and I know that many of them are choosing a place to study in Russia, named  Kazan and Tatarstan. It is not surprising, because our republic - is a territory of peace and friendship, here you can get a good quality education, as well as excellent spend your  student  years, developing and engaging in social work. This festival is very popular among foreign students. On behalf of the republic's leadership, I wish all the participants good luck and victory! "-  Rimma Atlasovna  said.

In turn, Minister of Youth and Sport of the Republic of Tatarstan Vladimir Leonov emphasized that Tatarstan  is a hospitable  republic  and ready to take on any number of foreign students on its  own land.

First Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Tatarstan A.I.  Pominov noted the importance of such events. "Our Festival is designed to help international students to integrate more successfully into the youth social environment, more widely know the culture of many countries through student’s  creativity representing different nations. We will continue to support  already having  become for all of us  traditional  and  a long  awaited  festival "Day of the foreign student", - said Andrei Ivanovich.

At the gala – concert   awarding  winners in 8 categories of creativity (pop and folk vocal, instrumental performance, artistic expression, folk and modern choreography, etc.)  was  held.

Grand Prix of the Festival received a student of the Kazan Conservatory after  N. Zhiganov   Liana Arakelyan (Armenia). Audience Award received Dinara Sultan (Kazakhstan). The online voting was attended by more than 23,500 students of Tatarstan.

The organizers of the gala-concert of the festival are the Youth Center of Cultures and Dialogue of the Republic of Tatarstan jointly with the Youth Assembly of Peoples of Tatarstan with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tatarstan.

The festival is held in the framework of implementation of the State program "The implementation of the state national policy in the Republic of Tatarstan   for  2014-2020 years." For the purposes of socio-cultural adaptation of foreign students in the student community of the republic.

This year, more than 50 applications   from 13 higher educational institutions of the Republic of Tatarstan   have been submitted   where foreign students are  studying .
