October 22, 2016 on the basis of the Palace of Culture named after S. Gassar, Mendeleevsk city hosted the second zonal qualifying round of the zone III Republican contest of choreographic and folklore collectives on the Tatar folk and ethnographic dance "Shoma bass", dedicated to the 110th anniversary of the first Tatar choreographer Gai Tagirov. Also, during the contest folk dance groups would confirmed the title of "People's amateur collective." To do this, separate programs have been prepared.
The zonal round of the show was attended by 16 creative groups and individual performers, more than 750 participants from the cities of Naberezhnye Chelny, Nizhnekamsk, Agryz, Tukayevsky, Zainsk, Yelabuga, Mendeleev municipal regions.
After the viewing competitive performances a meeting with leaders of collectives with the republican jury was held. Master class was conducted, general and individual analysis of all performances has been made.
The jury marked a high professional level of performing skill of the ensemble songs and dance "Nardugan" from Nizhnekamsk city. Chief Nail Musifullin painstakingly worked on collecting folklore material, studying dance, music, costumes, history and everyday life of the ethnic groups of Crimean, Samara Tatar-tiptyars, Cheremshan Tatars Mishars. The collected material has been processed and on its basis stage dance of these groups of Tatars were staged. On the basis of the material choreography by Gai Tagirov, an adult part of the ensemble "Nardugan" performed vocal and choreographic suite "Tui".
Another collective from Nizhnekamsk city, the Folk Dance Theatre "Second Breath", chief Elvira Karimullina methodically and intelligently with the appropriate plot and conception of dance with musical accompaniment performed "Dance of the Siberian Tatars" and a choreographic composition "Sabantui".
Collectives of Mendeleevsk city a sample ensemble "Shayan", dance leader Nakiya Nasifullina and national ensemble of variety dance "Crystal", chief Anna Ryabova prepared a variety by plots and conception the program to participate in the competition and confirm the title of "People’s". Both groups showed a massive pair dances, performed by different age groups. Specially for review-contest, director of ensemble “Shayan” studied and restored the dance by Gai Tagirov "Dance of Menzelinsky Tatars".
Kryashen Children's folklore ensemble "Pitrau" from Tukayevsky municipal region, head Lyudmila Adamova showed an interesting production "Kichke uyen", staged on the folklore of the Kryashens material.
All other choreographic groups, having come from the above mentioned regions also have prepared new dance compositions specifically for this competition, according to National Center of Traditional Culture.
