In Kazan for the 180th anniversary of birth of Kryashen educator Vasily Timofeev to be celebrated

For 180th anniversary of the birth  of Kryashen educator Vasily Timofeev in Kazan prepared a series of measure has been prepared.

This  was told  at a press conference organized by the news agency "Tatar-Inform", said Acting department head of inter-regional and inter-ethnic cooperation and exhibition activity of the RT  Ministry of Culture of  Rezeda Korchagina.

According to her, in 2014,  the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov was  addressed by the initiative group  of the Kryashen public,  who asked  the event to be held in Kazan,  dedicated to the 180th anniversary of the famous Kryashen educator Vasily Timofeev. The man stood at the origins of Kryashen secondary school and writing. He is also one of the founders of the first Tatar Cyrillic alphabet.

The initiative was approved, it  developed an action plan, for which state  financial support has been provided. All of them are  being  implemented during 2016. Among them - the Russian media competition on local history "History, Ethnography and folk art of  Kryashens", a scientific seminar in Mamadysh, a festival-contest of young performers "Tuym Zhondozy", a Kryashen song - "Christmas Star". Also, two representatives of Tatarstan will take part in the All-Russian scientific-practical conference "History and culture of Nagaibaks of the Southern Urals," which will be held in Chelyabinsk on 28-29 September. The key event of the celebration of the anniversary will be the first I National Festival of Orthodox Culture of Kryashens "Verbitsy Garden", which will be held on September 10 in Sviyazhsk historical and cultural reserve. The festival program will include performances by  creative groups, the competition of reciters of spiritual poems, singers  of Christian hymns.

Among other important events will be the opening of the exhibition "Nagaybaks history and traditional culture", scientific and practical conference "Historical and cultural heritage of  Kryashens ofthe Volga-Ural region", both events are scheduled for 9 September.

Director of the State RT  Museum of Fine Arts  Rosalia Nurgaleeva said that about Nagaybaks little is known in Tatarstan.

"These people have  quite an amazing history, their men were warriors. We found an engraving, showing that in the 1812 war Nagaybaks were very bold, first broke into the city. When they returned victorious, their  settlements called by  the names of European cities. This nation was not a warrior in one generation. In settlements boys from an early age were educated  become soldiers. When they grew up, they were given uniforms, horse and even a piece of land. Nagaybaks were very loyal to their work ", - said Rosalia Nurgaleeva and added that the exhibition will open at  the National Art Gallery" Hazine ". Exhibits  have been  provided by the villagers.

Head of Center for the Study and Kryashens Nagaibaks  RT Academy of Sciences Radik Iskhakov told that there is identity of each ethnic group and nation, which significantly influenced its development. Vasiliy Timofeev is one such figures. He was at the forefront of the  Kryashen education, cultural mobilization of  Kryashens and played a major role in the formation of identity and the foundations Kryashen high culture. But the biography of the historical figure is poorly studied. This conference is aimed at including the popularization of his historical and cultural heritage. The conference will take place on the basis of the House of Peoples' Friendship in Tatarstan.
