Opening of the exhibition "Pushkin and Kazan: Kazan collections in the museums of Russia" at the Museum of E.A. Boratynsky

September 7,  16.00, a  momentous event will be held at the Museum of E.A.Boratynsky  - an inter-museum exhibition "Pushkin and Kazan: Kazan collections in the museums of Russia", which is the result of many years of cooperation  between the National Museum of the Republic of Tatarstan and  the State Museum of A.S.  Pushkin (Moscow), the All-Russian Museum of A.S. Pushkin (Saint-Petersburg), Museum of V.A. Tropinin (Moscow) and the Library of Kazan Federal University  is due to open.

 

For the first time in one exhibition space the visitors will be presented  unique exhibits from the museum's collections of Kazan, Moscow and St. Petersburg, Kazan contexts associated with the life and work of Alexander Pushkin and having Kazan origin.

 

Visit   by  A.S. Pushkin to Kazan, September  5-8,  1833 was part of a larger trip, the poet conceived in order to collect materials for the preparation of publications of historical work "The History of Pugachev" and the writing of the novel "The Captain's Daughter." Introduction to sites of Pugachev rebellion and the Kazan Tatars, witnessing these tragic events, cultural links of  Kazan with Moscow and St. Petersburg have been reflected not only in the pages of Pushkin's works, but also in the collections of museums in the capital.

 

Among the rarities – autographs by  E.A. Boratynsky, lifetime portraits  of A.S. Pushkin and E. Boratynsky, Kazan romantic poet G.R. Kamenev, Kazan governor I.A. Boratynsky and his wife, A.D. Boratynsky (Abamelek), poet and writer A.A. Fuks; paintings and drawings   by  A.P. Bryullov, P.F. Sokolova, K. Osokin, K. Barda, I.E. Vivien, L.D. Kryukov.

 

The most surprising way, a furniture and  items from home of  Kazan merchant, a witness of the Pugachev rebellion L.F. Krupennikov appeared in St. Petersburg. Of particular interest will be a mysterious "Kazan" album with pictures K.V. Barda, K.K. Gampelna, L.D. Kryukov, as well as rare editions and manuscripts of XVIII - XIX centuries.

 

Kazan travel episode by   A.S. Pushkin was a significant event in a history of our land is already in the XIX century it  gets a continuation in the development of intercultural relations in creating a unique exhibition, according to  RT  NM press service.
