June 12 to November 4, 2016, with the support of the Russian Federation Ministry of Culture the II All-Russia festival-competition "Music of the Earth" is underway. The idea to organize a music forum, where on the same stage together ethnic and academic music are blended belongs to the outstanding pianist Boris Berezovsky.
The festival-competition "Music of the Earth" introduces viewers to the unique creative collectives of Russia, who are trying to restore and continue the musical tradition of their ancestors. And at the same time presents rarely performed classics and new works by contemporary composers, the inspiration for which was and remains a folk music.
Elongate the life of folklore, which is still living at the sticks and to demonstrate how it is partly is transformed, sounds in academic music - the main mission of the festival-competition "Music of the Earth."
All, without exception, Russian folklore - groups and individual performers, professionals and amateurs - can take part in the preliminary selection and to demonstrate their skills. One only has to fill in the entry form on the official website of the festival www.muzikazemli.ru and attach to it a link to the video of his performance posted on any public video sharing.
This year, the audience expects new discoveries: two premieres will be performed in a gala concert. Alexander Tchaikovsky created specially for the festival concert for piano and symphony orchestra, composed and included Russian folk instruments. The piano part performed by Boris Berezovsky. The second festival premiere - concert for chamber symphony orchestra, which is composed by Kuzma Bodrov and chose as a solo instrument gusli zvonchatye. Finally, the folk groups, having come to the festival from all over Russia, make up bright musical mosaic map of the Earth on which we live.
The program of activities of the festival-competition "Music of the Earth":
1-3 November, 2016 (St. Petersburg) qualifying concerts, under which 15 unique Russian folk ensembles will take part, selected by the Expert Council on the basis of submitted video materials.
Nov. 4 (Saint-Petersburg) a final gala concert, where on the same stage with world stars of classical music, 6 folklore groups will perform, who became the finalists of musical folklore marathon.
