June 24, at 15.00, the Museum-Reserve "Kazan Kremlin" hosts an exhibition of the best works of the Second all-Russia art contest "Shamail of my family." This exhibition-competition - the continuation of which started in 2015, the eponymous art project, which aims to revive shamail as a symbol of spiritual values of the Tatar family.
This year the exhibition will be deployed at three sites: Islamic Culture Museum, Gallery of Tatar shamail and Center "Hermitage-Kazan".
Islamic Culture Museum will present works in the category "Shamails as a family relic." In the competition of this year, most of shamails of this category belong to the congregation of the mosque of the village of Kestym in Udmurtia. Unique exhibits - three shamails, the creation of which experts attribute to the turn of the XIX-XX centuries. They have been found during the preparation of the exhibition. At the exhibition of 2015 shamails were displayed created in the second half of the twentieth century. Another contribution to the history of the exhibition shamails - names of the artists who created shamails in Udmurtia. Among them - the master Nurislam Gibaev (Izhevsk), master Gabdulla Hazrat Khamitov-Ushmavi ( village Tatar Parzi.) Ruf Sharafutdinov ( Kestym.) and others.
The gallery of Tatar shamail exhibits the works by contemporary artists in two competitive categories: "Modern Tatar traditional shamail" and "Graphic and embroidered shamail". Along with Shamail on the glass, visitors will get acquainted with the work performed in computer graphics and mixed printing techniques (etching, monotype, screen printing); easel graphic works; see embroidered composition (gold embroidery and "Izon" technique).
The peculiarity of the contest this year is the fact that in 2016 for the competitive categories artists specially prepared new works, while in 2015 the competition was attended by works created by artists in the past several years.
The traditional Tatar technique of painting on glass stimulates professional artists to new experiments that go beyond the boundaries of religious art. The Center "Hermitage-Kazan" will feature works by the category "Paintings in the technique of painting on glass." Here visitors will see works by contemporary artists, who turn in their works to reverse painting on glass with foil in Tatar Shamail.
Pretty extensive geography of participants. Tatarstan is presented by artists from Kazan Aznakayevo, Leninogorsk, Mamadysh, Naberezhnye Chelny, Russian regions – artists from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Ekaterinburg, Izhevsk, Vladimir, Ufa.
During the exhibition a round table will be held with the participation of artists, art critics and jury members on the theme "Art of shamail: current direction of development." During the exhibition, the jury will select the winners. Shortly after the Eid al-Fitr (14 July) in a solemn ceremony the winners of the All-Russian art competition "Shamail of my family - 2016" will be announced, according to the Kazan Kremlin press service.
