On Mother Language Day and the 130th anniversary of Gabdulla Tukai in Kazan, a traditional poetry festival took place

Today, on Mother Language Day and the 130th anniversary of the birth of Gabdulla Tukai in Kazan at the square near the monument to the poet of the Tatar Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre named after M. Jalil, a  traditional poetry festival  took place.

The event was attended by Deputy Chairman of RT State Council Rimma Ratnikova, Minister of Culture Airat Sibagatullin, deputies of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan, representatives of creative intelligentsia, artists, musicians and creative groups. On holiday  the   guests from other regions of Russia and foreign countries, including - Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan have arrived.

The ceremony began with the traditional laying flowers at the monument to Gabdulla Tukai.

On behalf of the President, the Government and the State Council of the Republic  guests were  congratulated  by Deputy Chairman of RT State Council Rimma Ratnikova.

"Tukai - a source of inspiration for poets and writers, the inexhaustible sea of ​​discovery for scientists.  Tukai  had  about 70 aliases, the researchers say. Tukai - poet, journalist, satirist, social activist, politician, diplomat. How many here undiscovered opportunities for inquisitive explorers, for the younger generation. Our poets – people’s, venerable and making their first steps in poetry – found  new faces  in the poet, open Tukai for themselves and for us, the readers. Tukai inspires not only the Tatars, his unbending personality, his greatness admires the whole Turkic world. His poems have been translated into many languages ​​of the peoples of the world ", - she said.

Her speech  R. Ratnikova completed   by  these words: "Let Tukai heritage continues to inspire people and passing  from generation to generation,  remains  eternal, let our spiritual source will never run dry."
