February 26, 2016, in Kazan, Council of the All-Russian public movement "Association of Finno-Ugric Peoples of the Russian Federation" will be held.  The main events are due to take place at the House of Friendship of Peoples of Tatarstan.

At the meeting of the Presidium of the Council the representatives of the authorities of the Republic of Tatarstan, educational and cultural institutions, public organizations and mass media have been invited.

One of the main topics of the meeting will be the issue of support for ethnic and cultural identity of the Finno-Ugric peoples living in the Republic of Tatarstan. In addition, a round table will take place: "On the experience of publishing the Finno-Ugric literature in Russia", in which the presentation and passing of the Finno-Ugric literature into the stores of the RT National Library.

In addition, today, February 25, at 17:00, at the House of Friendship of Peoples of Tatarstan a meeting of members of the Council of the All-Russian public movement "Association of Finno-Ugric Peoples of the Russian Federation" with the President of the Republic of Tatarstan State Council of the FH Mukhametshin will be held, reports information center of the House of Friendship of Peoples of Tatarstan.

We remind that in the composition of the Assembly of Peoples of Tatarstan consists of national-cultural autonomy of the three Finno-Ugric Peoples: Mari (18,848 people in Tatarstan, 0.5% of the total population), Mordovians (19 156 people, 0.5%) and   the Udmurts (23454 people, 0.6%). The Finno-Ugric movement in Tatarstan  is highly developed. Every year at the national level, major holidays of these nations are  celebrated: Semyk in  Mari, Udmurt Gyron  bydton  and  Mordvinian Baltai and Valda shinyas. In 2015 in Naberezhnye Chelny  the  art festival of Finno-Ugric peoples "We are one branch of the tree"  was  revived
