Poetic meeting in honor of the 110th anniversary of the birth of Musa Jalil held in Kazan

Today on Kazan the May 1 square a traditional poetry rally dedicated to the 110th anniversary of Tatar poet, Hero of the Soviet Union Musa Jalil was held.

The meeting has been attended by RT Deputy Prime Minister of Tatarstan Vasil Shaykhraziev, a daughter of the poet-hero Chulpan Zalilova, Minister of Culture Airat Sibagatullin, Tatar writer, poet, a laureate of   M. Jalil Tatarstan Republican award, chairman of RT State Council Committee on Education, Culture, Science and national issues Razil Valeev, poet Robert Minnulin and other cultural workers, public figures, as well as students and residents of the city.

Vasil Shaykhraziev congratulated on the 110th anniversary of Tatar poet all participants on behalf of President of Tatarstan and RT State Council. "The name of Musa Jalil for each of us is a holy, it is a symbol of civil courage and personal heroism, boundless devotion and love for the country, - said V.Shayhraziev. – Life of poet fighter, an ardent patriot, a hero of the Soviet Union was short and tragic, but his courage and artistic heritage left a trace in a history of the Tatar people and the fate of the whole country. "

Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic pointed out that in the world literature there were a lot of talented writers and poets. "However, those who displayed heroism, laid their heads for  the sake of their country, not many" - he said, adding that Musa Jalil and his colleagues have given new meaning to the concept of courage.

According to V.Shaykhraziev, on this day we must remember also about friends and relatives of the poet, comrades and fellow writers.

"For us, Jalil primarily a poet, the poet-hero. I think that the courage shown by him in captivity  comes  just from these poems, "-  Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic  said. He recalled that Musa Jalil wrote in captivity 125 poems,   only two notebooks  have    reached us.  As V.Shaykhraziev  said  creativity of the  poet  is actual   these days.

Tatar writer, poet, a laureate of   M. Jalil  Tatarstan Republican award  Razil Valeev, in turn, noted that Musa Jalil today is remembered not only in Kazan, Tatarstan, but throughout Russia and abroad: in various Russian The  various cities of Russia  host  events to mark the 110th anniversary of the birth of the poet. "Wherever we went, the question of what are  the Tatar people, we say that they are like Tukai  like Musa Jalil. Indeed, if someone wants to know the soul of the Tatar people, he should read Tukai, Jalil ", - Razil Valeev   said.

He also told how in 1985 he was in Afghanistan (by the way, February 15 is celebrated as the Day of the Soviet withdrawal from Afghanistan) and soldiers read poems   by Musa Jalil. "I was surprised when, after a poem, they  asked to read them  again and again. Almost completely  I have  read them  "Moabit Notebooks" - remembered R. Valeev and read  out  a poem he wrote after returning from there.

Speeches have also been made by Chairman of the Union of Writers of the Republic of Tatarstan Rafis Kurbanov, poet, a laureate of  M. Jalil Tatarstan Republican award  Luiza Yansuar.

The rally  ended  by laying flowers at the monument to Musa Jalil.
