From October 19 to 21, 2015, the Tatar State Philharmonic Society named after Tukai will host the II International Festival "Jazz Kazan".
The international festival "Jazz Kazan" is based on the idea of a big annual celebration of jazz music and to create for the participants and spectators a truly creative atmosphere. The festival takes place in the form of concert performances, jam sessions, master classes and creative meetings. It is aimed at different age groups and involves close emotional interaction between performers and the audience. This will help more fruitful co-creation on goals and objectives of the Festival.
International format of the festival allows to invite the best Russian and foreign artists, thus drawing attention to this event a greater number of experts and connoisseurs of jazz. The festival is aimed at preserving and improving the tradition and experience of the jazz festival movement.
Guests of the II International Festival "Jazz Kazan" are People's Artist of Russia, a distinguished jazz musician, multi-instrumentalist, a brilliant improviser, composer and founder of the Philharmonic Jazz David Goloshchekin and his ensemble, which is the leading "mainstream" team in the Russian and European jazz and is widely known and is popular in Europe and America. Currently, a recognized master of jazz Petersburg play in it: Peter Korn (piano), Stanislaw Streltsov (drums), Victor Shcherbin (conga drums), Vadim Mikhailov (bass); Petersburg public favorite and rising star of the jazz vocal of Russia Yulia Kasian; the world famous jazz orchestra of Glenn Miller under conduct of Will Salden; American jazz fusion guitarist, widely known thanks to the piano technique of playing the guitar, made famous as the phenomenal virtuoso in fluent two-handed tapping technique Stanley Jordan; American jazz singer, songwriter and performer, an actress with incredible charisma and energy Lori Williams.
