October 14-16, 2015, in Kazan, in the framework of the 150th anniversary of the National Library of the Republic of Tatarstan International scientific-practical conference "National libraries: Milestones of history and modern look" will be held.
The discussion on modern trends of development of the national libraries of Russia and foreign countries, an intensive exchange of professional information, ways of interaction and cooperation between various libraries and cultural institutions, the mission of the modern library in the socio-cultural context - the main subjects of the upcoming conference. The National Library of lives today and how to respond to the challenges of modern society - topical issues on which to answer the conference delegates.
The conference will be attended by the elite of Russian Library, professionals from foreign countries (representatives of libraries from Turkey, Germany, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, the International Organization of Turkic Culture), as well as scientists and researchers of the leading educational and research institutions in Russia. As the keynote speakers of international level speak the experts from the Russian State Library, the Russian National Library, the National Library of Turkey, the National Library of Kazakhstan, public figures of the Republic of Tatarstan.

Library Director of Munster Beate Treger (Beate Tröger) will present the report "Cultural heritage preservation in the Library of the Federal State of North Rhine - Westphalia: Foundation, its condition and the use of digital use."
The cultural program includes acquaintance with the Museum of History of Kazan (Volga) Federal University Scientific Library named after N.I. Lobachevsky, touring Kazan City with a visit to the Museum-Reserve "Kazan Kremlin", visiting the city's leading theaters. October 16, according to the wishes of participants will be organized visiting tours to the ancient city of Bolgar, the island Sviyazhsk, Raifa monastery.
