Trademarks of international festivals named after Shaliapin and Nureyev have been registered

Trademarks of the International Opera Festival named after Fyodor Shalyapin , and the International Festival of Classical Ballet named after Rudolf Nureyev have been registered. This was reported at a press conference on the opening of the new season, said the director of the Tatar State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre after M. Jalil Raufal Mukhametzyanov. Brands festivals are registered in the State Register of Trademarks and Service Marks for 10 years. In the future, the right to a trademark can be renewed repeatedly.

Work on registration lasted about two years. In the  Russian Federation far  not all brands may be claimed as trademarks – as a rule  brand recognition requires  significant resources, and a long period of time. At the same time for registration, even such well-known brands such as Shaliapin and Nureyev Festivals, theater staff had to assemble a large package of documents, including evidence of well-known trademarks (degree of fame, reputation of the mark in a relevant sector of consumption, duration and others.). Presently, the Brands of International Opera Festival named after Fyodor Shalyapin and the International Festival of Classical Ballet Rudolf Nureyev are reserved as valuable intellectual property.

International Opera Festival named    after F.I. Shalyapina®  has been  held in Kazan, the birthplace of the great singer, annually since 1982. 34th Shaliapin Festival will be held at the theater from February 1 to 20,  2016. The festival program will amount to 14 performances and concerts, will be attended by invited singers and conductors from Europe, CIS and Russia.

The International Festival of Classical Ballet named after Rudolf Nurieva® has been held in the capital of Tatarstan since 1987, and also has an annual format. 29th Nureyev Festival will be held in May 2016. The festival will open the premiere of the ballet "Esmeralda" to the music and Ts.Puni   and  R.Drigo. The program consists of performances of the classical heritage and modern performances.
