May 16-17, Tatarstan holds an action the "Night and day at the museum." This was said at a press conference at the news agency "Tatar-Inform" by Head of Museum Development of the Ministry of Culture of Tatarstan Damir Natfullin. He said that the event is held on the eve of the International Museum Day, which is celebrated on May 18th. For the first time in Tatarstan this action took place in 2007. Last year, it was attended by about 40 thousand residents and guests of Kazan. This year a free admission to be provided to all permanent exhibitions at all public museums in Tatarstan. Paid events and services by the museums will be organized additionally. This year, the theme of the campaign "Day and Night at the Museum" is the 70th anniversary of the Victory Day. According to the speaker, the action is held to promote the cultural heritage of Russia, as well as familiarizing the younger generation to museums. To attract the attention of children to the museums new approaches for the use of modern technology, 3D-visualization have been developed.
The main ground of the action in Kazan will be the National Museum of the Republic of Tatarstan, the State Museum of Fine Arts of Tatarstan, the Gallery of Modern Art, the Museum-reserve "Kazan Kremlin". The latter will host a rock festival for young bands, show of choirs, sports competitions in shooting, running and others. Events will be held from the morning up to the night 2.00 pm. Asked by reporters why the action takes place only up to 2.00, while in Moscow it goes up to the morning, Damir Natfullin said that every year time of last visits to the museums is fixed. Last year, after 23.00 pm there were no visitors to museums. If the number of visitors at night increases the campaign will be extended. While there is no need to carry out the action up to the morning, he said.
Head of the G. Tukai Literary Museum Guzel Tukhvatova said that their museum is also actively involved in the action. May 16, the day begins with an interactive tour for tourists "Morning at the museum." After an exciting costume walks visitors are invited to visit the museum event "Colours of Sabantui" where everyone can experience the atmosphere of the national holiday of Sabantui. At 13.30 pm, little visitors take part in a lesson "Great-grandsons of the Victory" on the background of the exhibition "We are fighting like a tiger ...". Children become familiar with a new exhibition dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Great Victory, talk about their great-grandfather, who fought in the war and worked in the rear, see children's drawings of the war years. At 17.00, in the evening, a meeting "Aulak oi" ("Evening gatherings") is held.
