6 May 2015, Wednesday

The Republican Special Library for the Blind and Visually Impaired  has  released an album, "Soldiers of the Great Victory", dedicated to the 70th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

The photo album with living blind participants of  the war was  prepared  by   organizational and methodological department of the library. Its basis is made  up of the  materials collected during the patriotic action "Memory Landing", held previously  by  the Library: brief biographical information, photos of the war years and  current time, the documents stored in the personal archives of veterans.

Publication  of the  album - a tribute to the feat of arms by  blind war veterans. We think it will be valuable not only for  blind veterans, but also has social significance and practical value for the educational work with the younger generation. Such publication promotes the formation of socially significant values, citizen and high patriotic consciousness, the development of spiritual and cultural traditions on the heroic examples of fellow-countrymen in the Great Patriotic War.

Album will be presented today, May 6, at the ceremony dedicated to the victory in the Great Patriotic War, it  will be presented to each veteran whose military way was   reflected in a publication, the press service of the library informs.
