Foundation for the Support of Contemporary Art "Living City" opens a creative laboratory called "Ugol"

Foundation for the Support of Contemporary Art "Living City" opens a creative laboratory called "Ugol (angle)." The platform will be located at  Tatarstan 20, a  building recently opened residence of  creative industries "Shtab (Headquarters)",  and will be the basis for most projects of  "Living City" in the field of theater, film and other trends in contemporary art. Opening the "Ugol" is scheduled for April 22, 2015.

Foundation for the Support of Contemporary Art "Living City" was created in 2013. Its founders: Diana Safarova (founder of the fund, a member of the Public Chamber of the Republic of Tatarstan), Inna Yarkova (Director of the Foundation, a graduate of the Kazan Theatre School) and Artem Silkin (founder of the Foundation, Director of the Museum "The Island of Sviyazhsk").

For  just 2 years of existence, the fund has realized a lot of iconic projects that have become events in the cultural life not only in Kazan, but the whole of Russia and Tatarstan   designated place of Tatarstan   in contemporary art. Among them: Laboratory Support for theaters in small towns of Russia Sviyazhsk (together with the Theatre of Nations and the Russian Ministry of Culture), retrospectives and creative meetings of famous film director Alexander Sokurov and Jos Stelling,  the  IV Kazan International Festival of amateur and youth film, touring "Theatre.doc "(jointly with the Center of Contemporary Culture" Change "), theater laboratory" City of ART training "and" Svijazhsk-Artel".

According to the founders of "Living City", today there is an urgent need for a separate working space, "the office" for the fund.

" Ugol "-  it is transforming  theatrical  platform, which will be the space for performances of all major forms of contemporary theater - verbatim, documentary theater, site-specific, storytelling, theater ... baby  theatre  - says Diana Safarova. - There will be dramatic and directing laboratory projects in the field of contemporary dance; organized lectures, film screenings, as well as live TV the best examples of modern art - performances, performances, online tours ... a lot of plans, but at the same time we are open to new ideas. "

According to the founders of "The Living City", the main mission of the new space "Ugol" - the development and promotion of high-quality contemporary theater and film content, and as a result - the formation of new audiences and the integration of young people in contemporary cultural space.
