February 21, 18.00, a public lecture themed: "A National Theatre and Theater itself" to be held at the Center for Contemporary Culture "Smena". Leading lecturer - Farid Bikchantaev, chief director of the Tatar State Academic Theatre after G. Kamal. This is the second theater lectures - a joint project of Kamal Theatre and "Smena".
Tatar theater, having arisen at the beginning of the last century, exists in two dimensions. As the expresser of thoughts and aspirations of its people, the keeper of the literary language and cultural traditions, and as a modern theatrical body, rooted in the context of the global stage culture. These two trends are engaged in dialogue, and sometimes in conflict, but more often it is an issue of artistic synthesis.
What allows Kamal theater being a deep national spirit and form to create performances that go beyond national art? What is the "National Theatre"? What is more important - loyalty to the traditions or the search for a new theatrical language?
These difficult questions will try to answer the main theater director of G. Kamal theatre Farid Bikchantaev.
The lecture will be held on February 21, 18.00, at the Center for Contemporary Culture "Smena" at steet B.Shahidi 7.
