Secondary Special Music School (college) at Kazan State Conservatory named after N.G. Zhiganov presents Children's Art Festival "January Nights", which starts on January 22 and runs until January 28.

"January Nights" - a unique joint project of the Gnessin School and the RT SMFA. The festival is conceived as a continuation of the "adult" "December Nights of Svyatoslav Richter", so it is also the main idea is to connect music, painting and other arts. Difference for the adults 'Evenings' is one, but very important: both on stage and in the audience - children. Therefore, the situation in the room is not as strict and formal, as at the "December Nights", and the action itself sometimes includes an element of the game.

The festival started in 2007. Then, in the unique atmosphere of the halls of the Pushkin Museum. Young Muscovites and visitors for the first time were able to "see" and depict melodies, performed by young musicians of the orchestra "Gnessin Virtuosi". Subsequently, "January Nights" were joined by many Russian cities and regions where people are now annually also "depict" music.
The first two festivals were held in Moscow. The purpose of the following festivals became involving in orbit "January Nights" other Russian cities and regions where they conduct their own creative resources - young soloists, chamber ensembles, local children's groups and young artists. Thus, the third festival was held in Moscow, Yekaterinburg and Orenburg. The fourth festival went beyond Russia - Russian cities were joined by the Spanish city of Vic. In "January Nights 2013" took part cities: Moscow, Orenburg, Yekaterinburg, Vic (Spain), Druskininkai (Lithuania), and our Kazan.
Organizer and author of the "January Nights" in Kazan became the Special Music School (college) at KSC n.a. N. G. Zhiganov, its partner became the RT State Museum of Fine Arts . RT SMFA enjoys long tradition of cooperation with young musicians. These are museum lessons on exposure and exhibitions, concerts by pupils in the museum for children, seniors, SSMS pupil’s participation in the annual children's drawing competition.
In 2015 pupils of SSMS , children's art school № 1 in Kazan, Kazan music schools № 2, music school from Zelenodolsk and pupils of Kazan drama school.
At the time of the festival in the halls of the RT SMFA an exhibition of drawings of the festival will be held . Theme of IX festival "January Nights" - "Twelve months: sound - word - image". Young participants and spectators meet the characters of the famous Slovak tales of twelve brothers, wizards, and the festival program, in addition to music and painting, poetry for the first time will be included.
January 22, at 18.00, Hall SSMS - opening - the premier musical and literary composition "Twelve Months".
Pupils of SSMS and Music School № 2, accompanied by readers, SSMS pupils and video, created on the basis of children's drawings, will perform works by Vivaldi, Schumann, Tchaikovsky, Sergei Prokofiev, V.Kalinnikov and other composers. Chorus of SSMS takes part in the opening ceremony.

The final concert of the festival with the participation of young artists - winners of international and national competitions.
