A brilliant duet of the soloist of Abkhazian State Philharmonic, organist of Pitsunda temple, laureate of international competitions Luka Gadelia and rising opera star, the Abkhaz State Philharmonic soloist, soprano Chrestina Eshba visited the capital of Tatarstan in the framework of the project "Cultural Season" Russia - Abkhazia. "A visit to Kazan became the first tour on the map of musicians, having traveled with concerts many cities in Russia, as well as having performed in the cathedrals of Rome, Oxford, Cambridge, Pula, Kintberi, Luxembourg, Brussels, Barcelona. The program, heard on stage of SBCH January 18, organically combines works from different periods in which the performers demonstrated command over the widest palette of styles.
The first part of the concert was entirely devoted to baroque music. With power and temperament exposed by Luka Gadelia sounded Prelude and Fugue in E Minor, and Passacaglia and Symphony Cantata №29 by Johann Sebastian Bach. Incredibly beautiful voice, a high performance culture and knowledge of the specifics of the Baroque style was demonstrated by Chrestina Eshba. The lady singer did not disappoint the expectations of the most discerning connoisseurs of ancient music, filigree contours and fine singing an aria from the opera Morgan's "Alcina" and Cleopatra aria from the opera "Julius Caesar in Egypt" by George Frideric Handel, and Dido's aria from "Dido and Aeneas" by Henry Purcell.
The second part opened rendition of "Abkhazian Capriccio" by Luka Gadelia - expanded the play, he composed himself on topics of Abkhaz folk music. Musician constantly includes compositions on Abkhazian theme in his program. Namely, they have become his "visiting card" as in his historic homeland so far beyond its borders. Also, the duet performed a well known Abkhaz "Song of the rock."
The reputation of a virtuoso interpreter of organ classics confirmed execution by L. Gadelia of "heroic Caprice" by Charles Bonnet and Fantasy and Fugue on the chorale theme from the opera J.. Meyerbeer "The Prophet" by Franz Liszt. Decoration of the program was the performance by the duet of "Ave Maria" by Charles Vidor and Maria "Piezu" by Gabriel Fauré.
We remind that the project "cultural season" Russia - Abkhazia"was initiated by the Ministry of Culture of Russia and Abkhazia in 2010.
