Sochi to host the first National Festival and Exhibition of Folk Culture

November 2 – 4, 2014, the city of Sochi hosts the first All-Russia festival and exhibition of folk culture.

It has been initiated and organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.

This event is intended to be a bright annual event, reviving and maintaining the tradition of folk culture  of Russia regions, participating in the development of modern trends and directions that can be integrated into folk art. Holding of this festival should help mutual enrichment of cultures, the harmonization of interethnic and inter-ethnic relations and the strengthening of friendly relations between the peoples of Russia. The Festival is a spectacular entertainment event, working fairground as well as large-scale cultural action, addressed to a contemporary audience, including young people.

One of the main goals of the festival - to become a showcase of all directions of folklore creativity of  Russia regions. During the festival discussion and presentation, roundtables, which will raise and discuss   the main issues of folk art in our country, an exchange of creative ideas aimed at strengthening cultural ties between the regions; discussion groups touring schemes in different regions; discussing   joint projects in the field of folk art; presentation of already developed interregional cultural projects to be organized. Demonstration program of the festival is planned to be varied and rich.

November 3 a gala concert of art collectives and soloists - the winners of the All-Russian festival of folk art "Together we - Russia" to take place. The culmination of the event will be a gala concert, which will be held November 4, 2014, on the National Unity Day. National Festival promises to be a bright national event, is of interest not only for official delegations of regions, but also for Russian and foreign tourists.

The Republic of Tatarstan is to be presented at the Festival by the State Song and Dance Ensemble "Agidel" and master crafts.
