Elabuga will host International scientific-practical conference "Museums-reserves - a museum of the future"

From November 18 to 22, 2014, Elabuga city will host the International scientific-practical conference "Museums-reserves - a museum of the future", organized by Elabuga State Museum-Reserve in conjunction with the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan, the All-Russian public organization "Russian Committee of the International Council of Museums" - IKOM of Russia and Department of Museology of the Russian State University for the Humanities.

The year 2014, announced in Russia and Tatarstan the Year of Culture, Elabuzhskij State Historical-Architectural and Art Museum-Reserve is celebrating its 25th anniversary. Meeting of the Presidium of IKOM of Russia is expected within the conference.

November 21, a solemn event of the anniversary date is to be held.

For participation  in the conference Russian and foreign scientists  have been invited – museologists, historians, sociologists, as well as specialists, scientific interests of whom are related to the theoretical problems of museology and practice of museums.

The work program of the conference includes plenary and scientific discussions in the following sessions:

1. Actualization of all kinds of cultural and natural heritage as the most important mission of museum reserves.

2. Museum-Reserve in the context of the development of the region and its population

3. Museum-Reserve as an object of exhibition design
