Today, the 1 International Festival "Jazz Kazan" at the Tatar State Philharmonic Society named after G. Tukai has started

Today, the first day of the I International Festival “Jazz Kazan” at the Tatar State Philharmonic Society named G. Tukai brilliantly has passed. First Deputy Minister of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan Irada Aiupova made an official speech at the festival opening. She noted that Kazan has always attracted the good in all areas of art and culture. And this festival - a festival of quality, professional music, another confirmation of this. By good old tradition a red tape was cut. Then artistic director and chief conductor of the Chamber Orchestra of Jazz Music named after Oleg Lundstrem (Moscow), People's Artist of Russia Boris Frumkin came on the scene. In his hand he has a piece of that same red tape. Maestro swung it ... and the show has began. Started madness of what is best in jazz. The baton from Boris Frumkin passed to chief conductor of the Philharmonic Orchestra of Jazz Marat Nikolaev. Two orchestras have merged in the best compositions, two conductors skillfully directed the two orchestras. The works by O.Lundstrem, Yu.Saulsky, Neal Hafti, Walter Donaldson, G.Gershwin, Mayme Watts, Iuan Tizol, M.Blanter have sounded.

The 1 International Festival "Jazz Kazan" is held within the framework of the Year of Culture in Russia and Tatarstan. The concept of the festival is based on the idea of organizing a large annual festival of jazz music and create for  participants and spectators a truly creative atmosphere. The festival takes place in the form of concert performances, jam sessions, workshops and creative meetings. The festival is aimed at different ages and involves close emotional interaction  between  performers and audience. International festival format allows you to invite the best Russian and foreign performers, thereby draw attention to this event a greater number of experts and connoisseurs of jazz. The festival is aimed at maintaining and improving the tradition and experience of the jazz festival movement.
