Library for the Blind and Visually Impaired took part in international crowd-sourcing action Rasul Gamzatov "My Dagestan"

Republican Special Library for the Blind and Visually Impaired took part in major international crowd-sourcing action  Rasul Gamzatov "My Dagestan".

The initiator of the  action appeared to be  the  Khasavyurt Central City Library named after Rasul Gamzatov. Within the event,  lovers  of  reading from different countries have  been conducting   a collaborative video,  reading a lyrical story  by  Rasul Gamzatov "My Dagestan" translated   by  Vladimir Soloukhin.

According to the organizers, the book was divided into 250 pieces sent out to the  admirers   of  Gamzatov’s  prose to all corners of Russia and foreign countries. People of different professions and different ages, different faiths and different nationalities, different political views and artistic tastes were recording  on  camcorders  their  extraordinarily interesting reading of a literary work that is rightly called an encyclopedia of the glorious history and unique culture of the peoples of Dagestan. Among them Head of the Department of organizational-methodological and bibliographical activities Gelusya Zakirova, readers and friends  of libraries Oleg and Marina Silakhins.

As a result of teamwork,  admirers   of  Rasul Gamzatov from 38 regions of the Russian Federation, as well as Azerbaijan, Belarus, Benin, Britain, Germany, Georgia, Italy, Kazakhstan. Cambodia, Canada, Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia, Moldova, Poland, Serbia, Slovenia, Turkey, Ukraine, France and Estonia have got a bright multi-colored canvas where every shred though different, but surprisingly in harmony with them.

Going  to the next, the 91st anniversary of the birth of the poet the work has been completed  on the first part of the audio-book. Recorded videos, making up the  audio-book, are publicly available http://mydaghestan.blogspot.ru/; on the Internet.

 Besides  staff and readers of the Library for the Blind of our republic,   in the event   took part   head of the school library Lyceum №1  of Zelenodol'sk Marina Balyakin and teachers of the Lyceum. Until the end of this year, librarians of  Khasaviurt plan to fully voice the story "My Dagestan",  and have already started to accept applications for participation in the continuation of the action.
