Kachalovsky theater opened on the small stage its 224th season with first night detective story, "The Mousetrap" based on the play by Agatha Christie

September 16,  Kazan Academic Russian Bolshoi Drama Theatre named after V.I. Kachalov opened on the small stage its 224th season with  first night  detective story, "The Mousetrap" on the play Queen of the genre of Agatha Christie.

Staging   has been made  by the Honored Artist of the Republic of Tatarstan  Ilya Slavutskii. Scenography   by  Alexander Patrakov,  costumes   by  well-known Kazan designer Rustam Iskhakov. The cast: Honored artists of  RT  Elena Ryashina,   Marat Golubev, Antonina Ivanova, Irina Vandysheva, artists Alexander Malinin, Ilia Petrov, Alexey Zakharov, Ilya Ivanovich.

When in 1952 the play "The Mousetrap"   appeared , no one, including the author, did not expect that it  would  go down in the history of world theater as one of the most successful plays. For more than 60 years  "The Mousetrap" is on stages around the world, repeatedly filmed and translated into 23 languages​​. A performance of the play in London has become one of the most attractive sights of national capital of England.

The enormous success of the play,    Agatha Christie explains  herself : "In this play, there is something for everyone, which is why it is liked  by  people of all ages and tastes,  young and old, and even highbrow Oxford professors. As events unfold, the audience always wants to know what's next, and guess how the story  turns the next few minutes, it's hard. "

The post-war England. In the newly opened private boarding,  first guests come. It snows outside, in the living room, open fire, friendly hosts, providing guests with care, and it seems nothing could  disturb  peaceful life of a small hotel, but the events follow one another, making a hospitable home into a trap where it is not known who will be a murderer or a victim .

A Chamber space  of  Small Stage immerses the viewer in the atmosphere of respectable English detective with its  sense of humor, irony and subtle psychological details and hidden,  behind the gentlemanly composure,  passions.  A spectator involuntarily gets involved in the investigation, which outcome,   of the queen Agatha Christie,  is always unpredictable.

In September,  rehearsals of a new play for the big stage   start. The first premiere in  the updated building will become an immortal comedy by Beaumarchais "Crazy Day or The Marriage of Figaro" directed by Artistic Director of Theatre, People's Artist of Russia and Tatarstan Alexander Slavutsky, the press service of the theater informs.
