Yesterday, September 16, in the Tatar State Theatre of Drama and Comedy after K.Tinchurin    the play by V.Shulbaeva "Khan Mergen"  of  Khakassky National Drama Theatre  after  A.M.Topanov   took place.

Khan Mergen  - is the ruler of  ancient khakassky  state. He conducts a bloody war with its neighbors Uighurs for trade routes and influence. By law of steppe, the  Khan’s children  should go to war in the first row. But his son Khris runs from the battlefield, and now the father  must execute  him. The viewer will see on stage a dramatic story of love and courage of Khris,     the story  about what fatal mistakes made ​​wise and fair Khan Mergen.

Khakassky National Theatre starts  its  report time in a world culture from  November  6, 1931. It has  appeared on the basis of amateur   theatre of  sinebluznik (blue blouse). The first artistic director of the theater - director, poet, playwright and musician A.M. Topanov, Director – I.V. Kokov.

The first national actor’s studio  at the Leningrad Institute of Theatre named after Alexander Ostrovsky was recruited in 1939, thus for years to come, securing  cooperation in the training of creative personnel between the theater and the institute.

Khakas first professional theater director was A. Tuguzhekov, performances which were a great success and for many years remained in the memory of  Theatre   admirers  (1957 - 1982.)

Theatre Arts in Khakassia   in  70-80 years is  associated with creativity  of  striking and original directors - E.M.Kokova, V.I.Ivandaev, M.G.Topoev.  Best performances of each of them reflect the ideas and problems of the times in which they lived.

From 1991 to October 2001, with  advent of active and progressive director - E.M.Kokova,  the   theater begins a new stage in understanding the folklore and epic,  creating unexpected projects, ahead of its  time.

Milestone in the history of the theater and the republic was in 1996, when Khakassky theater received the status of "national." In 2001, the year of celebration of the 70th anniversary, the theater was named   after  the founder - Alexander Mikhailovich Topanov.

Since 2004 the Republican contest named after  A.M. Topanov for  creating   works Khakassian drama; the work continues closely with the St. Petersburg Academy of Theatre Arts. In the autumn of 2012, the troupe enriched by  young professionals graduates of the  VI National SPGATI studio.
