September 3 and 4, the Museum of Konstantin Vasilyev hosts the Days of Konstantin Vasilyev, dedicated to the 72th anniversary of the birth of one of the most interesting contemporary artists of Russia.
The artist lived only 34 years, but left a vast artistic heritage: paintings, drawings, illustrations of literary works, sketches, murals of the church in Omsk. Works of the early 1960's are marked by influence of surrealism and abstract expressionism. In the late 1960s, the artist abandoned formalistic search, worked in a realistic manner.
K. Vasiliev turned to folk art: Russian songs, epics, tales, Scandinavian and Irish sagas, to "Edda poetry."
For his work on the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 K.Vasilev was awarded the title of Laureate of the Young Communist League of Tatarstan named after Musa Jalil.
The artist worked much in the genre of landscape and portrait.
After the tragic death of the artist in 1976, his works have received national and international recognition, at the same time having a heated debate about the meaning of his work, and the meaning of his paintings, a place in the history of Russian and world culture.
September 3, the Museum of Konstantin Vasilyev (Bauman str, 29) All-Russian Conference "The artistic heritage of Konstantin Vasilyev in the context of contemporary culture" will be held Art historians, writers, philosophers will reveal to us the deeper meaning of his works, look inside the creative laboratory of the artist, tell interesting stories about the creation of his works.
On the same day Kazan will know the names of the winners of the City Prizenamed after K.Vasilev in the field of Fine Art for teachers of children's art schools, art departments of music and art schools of the city.
On the square in front of the Museum a festive concert program with the participation of artists of Kazan will be organized.
September 4, the Museum of Konstantin Vasilyev hosts a seminar for teachers of schools in Kazan, Kazan Department of Culture informs.
