Briefing on the issues of the jubilee X International Muslim Film Festival, which will be held in Kazan from 5 to 11 September 2014 took place

In most nominations the X Kazan International Muslim Film Festival, which is to take place from    September 5 to 11, the films are presented created in Tatarstan. This was announced today at a press conference, held at the House of the Government of Tatarstan, Deputy Minister of Culture of the Republic Guzel Nigmatullina said.

"This year we watch a particular success of our festival regarding  Tatarstan cinema. Almost all nominations except for a full-length documentary films, entered the films of Tatarstan production", - she said.

July 1 accepting applications for the festival finished, just this year, there were more than 500 applications from 56 countries. First received applications from Brazil and Argentina. August 1, Selection Committee  completed its work, as a result  competition program includes 50 films from 22 countries. The deputy minister noted that 90 percent   of the movies represented at the festival - a premiere films that have never been in  distribution.

This year's festival is tied directly to two events: the Year of Culture and Kazan as the cultural capital of the Turkic world, as well as the 90th anniversary of film distribution in the Republic of Tatarstan. "All these events will be reflected in the program of our festival," - said the speaker.

As in previous years, the budget of the festival will be about 15 million rubles.

This year's festival is different including rich of- competition program. It included the program "Youth Short'y", in which young Tatarstan directors present their work. Also at the festival,   Portuguese   movies  appear,  a big Iraqi program  is expected, as well as youth movies from the UK. Youth-oriented programs as "Oscar house", which included playing short films, got shortlisted for the award "Oscar". Another program - award-winning films of all previous years of the festival. Also,  for the first time,  films from Yakutia  will be presented.

Showings of competition program will be held in the cinema Rodina,  partners of the festival are cinemas Mir, Kinomax,  Kinomechta  and the    RT  House of Peoples' Friendship RT.
