Day of Tatar culture held by union "Tatars in Belgium" over the weekend at the camp "Saturn"

Day of Tatar culture   was  held   by the  union "Tatars in Belgium" over the weekend at  the Camp "Saturn." Three components of the program of the day - poetic composition on creativity  of  G.Tukay,   master class on the national dance and cooking classes were  designed to familiarize  children and adolescents with the colorful history of the Tatars.

International training camp for children and youth «Saturn» has been  existing  in Belgium  already  for several years,  it is known for its concept to combine vacation time  of pupils  from different countries, helping them to learn different languages ​​through the lessons of professional educators, direct communication with peers - native speakers, through games and exciting activities. Location of the camp in the wooded plateau of the Ardennes, near the town of Durbuy, provides clean air, rural tranquility,  alternation of spectacular scenery, rocky canyons and green meadows. To the point, in recent years, "Saturn",  in a heartbeat, the children from  Tatarstan have   registered   here. Presently,   they visited  the first two shifts.

Members of the Union "Tatars in Belgium"  have  organized a workshop on the preparation of the national dessert chak-chak, explaining to children that in ancient times it was prepared in the nomadic conditions, with a minimum of ingredients, but with a long shelf life in the absence of all kinds of refrigerators, and the dish  was not losing  even during moving its original shape and quality. By adding   little  balls in a high pyramid and decorated   by  raisins or nuts, chak-chak is changing its status and becomes a grand, festive dish.

Tale "Shurale" for children,  who  never  heard of Tukai,  became on that day  a real discovery:  it appeared,  not all forest monsters, turn  out for blood, and secondly, folk wisdom through the poem of  the poet explains   that the enemy does not necessarily should be  overwhelmed   by  offensive words or contrive   fight  against him. You can win by  wit and dexterity as easily  it  had been  done   by  a village  lad   Byltyr.  The work  together with presenters  was  read  by children, learning Russian off  comprehensive school. Illustration of the poem on the big screen was the cartoon "Shurale." Also,  on this day pupils  of  "Saturn" acquainted with the national clothing, headgear and footwear on   Tatars motives of arts and crafts, got an idea about the elements of folk dance and music, according to Lily Schmitz, head of the union «Tatars in Belgium».
