On the territory of the Bulgarian State Historical and Architectural Museum a ceremony "Izge Bolgar Zhiene" to be held

June 14, 2014, on the territory of the Bulgarian State Historical and Architectural Museum, a ceremony "Izge Bolgar Zhiene" on the Day of the official adoption of Islam by Volga Bulgars is to be held.

The event will be attended by the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, State Councillor Mintimer Shaimiev.

Within a solemn event, an opening of the object "Gabdrakhman koyese" (Captain's Well) will take place. Reading sermons, performance of munazhat , old  Tatar songs, performance of  Koran reciters, works by Town of  masters, with trade  by items souvenirs of ethnic craftsmanship will arranged.

For guests, on the eve of a solemn event, a camp with the necessary amenities to be functioned.

Celebrating the anniversary of the adoption of Islam  is  held in Bolgar Spassky municipal region  of the Republic of Tatarstan   since  1989. It  attracts pilgrims from different regions of Russia and CIS countries. Since 2005, the festival  has been  supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Executive Committee of the World Congress of Tatars , the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Tatarstan and the municipality of  " Spassky municipal region of the Republic of Tatarstan ." In 2013,  the  ceremonies   were  attended by more than 45,000 pilgrims from all over Russia, CIS and abroad.

Considering  the historical significance of this event, the Law of the Republic of Tatarstan  as of  14.10.2010 № 74 -LRT "On Amendments to the Law of the Republic of Tatarstan " On holidays and anniversaries of the Republic of Tatarstan " Day of the official adoption of Islam by Volga Bulgars   established     as a memorable date of the Republic of Tatarstan.
