Urban social action "Immortal Regiment" was held at the Victory Park

May 9, an urban social action "Immortal regiment" was held at the Victory Park in celebration of Victory Day. The action took place throughout the Russian Federation, and the capital of Tatarstan also joined it.

On this day, with portraits of soldiers, home front workers children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren of those soldiers who did not survive to 69 anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War   came to the park. The idea of ​​action - together in one row and    the living deceased victors.

Along military equipment,  the   participants   of  " Immortal regiment"  were standing .   Over  the rank,  a red banner with the inscription " Immortal Regiment"   was waving, which united all    the participants. More than 150 portraits of war heroes and red carnations were holding their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Everyone,  who came to share with portraits of deceased war veterans , home front workers    joined them . St. George ribbon as a symbol of victory  was for each participant .

After laying flowers at the Eternal Flame,  the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov , State Councillor of the Republic of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev, Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan Ildar Khalikov and other officials   approached  the participants. Walking along the rows of the participants, they with interest   were communicating  with grandchildren, great-grandchildren of a Soldier .

And indeed, in celebration of victory in one  row were    standing    the living and deceased heroes of the Soviet Union , awarded the Order of Glory, medals "For Valour" ,  Soldiers and Generals  stood. And the people passing along the ranks with portraits , recognized  new faces once forgotten heroes of war. And action " Immortal Regiment" revived their names!

At the end of the action, the participants laid flowers at the Eternal Flame monument and    monument to Mother.

Organizers of the action were the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Tatarstan , Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tatarstan , the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan ( National Centre for Development of Traditional Culture) , the youth organizations of the city .
