Within the main program "Kazan - a cultural capital of the Turkic world in 2014 ", the Institute of Philology and Intercultural Communication of KFU, on May 13-17, with the organizational and financial support of the Foundation of Philosophy and Arts named after Mehmet Akif Ersoy ( Istambul, Turkey), hosts an International Symposium "Outstanding enlighteners of the Turkic world: Mehmet Akif Ersoy and Gabdulla Tukai ».
Mehmet Akif Ersoy (1873-1936) - Great Ottoman poet, author of "March of Independence" (anthem of Turkey), educator, social activist, a religious enlightener (translator of the Koran ) .
Foundation of Philosophy and Arts named after Mehmet Akif Ersoy was set up in 1984 in the capital of Turkey - Ankara. For 30 years, with the support of the foundation numerous events dedicated to issues of culture , art and literature of Turkic peoples were held.
The International Symposium "Outstanding enlighteners of Turkic world" also has more than ten years' history : it was conducted both in Turkey and abroad , particularly in Novipazare (Serbia) , Pristina and Prizren ( Kosovo), Sarai -Bosnia ( Bosnagertsek ), Cairo (Egypt), Almaty ( Kazakhstan ), Baku (Azerbaijan) and devoted to the great enlighteners of the Turkic world. The purpose of the International Symposium - study and dissemination of literary and scientific achievements of outstanding educators of the Turkic world .
In 2014 International Symposium , held in KFU, will be devoted to social activities of the great Tatar poet G. Tukai .
