May 7, 2014, the International Campaign " We read to children about war," initiated by the Samara regional children's library and on the Day of the Great Victory was held.
The main objective of the Action "Reading to children about war " - education of patriotic feelings in children and adolescents on the example of the best examples of children's books about the Great Patriotic War.
Participants of the action became large number of cultural, educational, health and social protection institutions: libraries, museums, kindergartens, educational and correctional schools, social shelters, rehabilitation centers, orphanages, hospitals , associations , children's clubs and a lot of other organizations, including the Republican Special library for the Blind and Visually Impaired.
According to the organizers , an hour of simultaneous loud reading the best works of war, written for children and teenagers, will help the participants to feel part of one big country in which all are responsible for everything ; realize the importance of preserving the memory of present and future generations about the crucial events in the history of the Fatherland, foster a sense of patriotism and love for the motherland. According to preliminary estimates, more than 400,000 children and adolescents in 75 regions of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus, Kazakhstan and Ukraine listened the works, telling about the Great Patriotic War and the great human feat.
Employees of service, organizational, methodological and bibliographic activity of the Republican Special Library for the Blind and Visually Impaired with pupils of grades 1-4 of Kazan special (correctional ) Secondary school № 172 III, IV kinds , read the stories from the book by L.F. Voronkova "Girl from the city " followed by discussion.
At the end, the action participants commemorated the victims of the Great Patriotic War, Presenters handed St.George ribbons to children.
