May 17-18 of  2014 from 12.00 PM   to 02.AM, the    National Museum of Tatarstan   invites  Kazan  residents and guests to the high-day "Day - Night - Day at the Museum ." The official theme  of the action  this year - "Museum collection  unite !» («Museum collections make connections!»). Flash mobs, mass rallies, concerts, master classes, competitions and much more will take place in the museum    halls  and on  May 1   Square.

May 18 - International Museum Day.   From 12.00 PM  National Museum of Tatarstan invites to the Open Day. Entrance to the museum - free, the press service of PT NM    reports.

History:

International Museum Day - an annual holiday celebrated on May 18. It was established on the 11 General Conference of  ICOM ( International Council of Museums )  held in Moscow and Leningrad in 1977.

Night of museums - the first time this event was held in Berlin in 1997  with the objective of demonstrating the potential of cultural treasures and museums, attracting youth  to  museum space. In 2001, the action was carried out in 39 countries in Europe and America. Since 2002, the " Night at the Museum " is  held in Russia.
