The Museum of Islamic Art will open the exhibition "Silver Koran"

May 6, 2014, at 3.00 PM,   at the Museum of Islamic culture,   the exhibition "Silver Koran " is due to open.

The museum " Kazan Kremlin" presents  a unique exhibit - "Silver Koran" - a copy of the ancient manuscript of  VIII century Quran of Usman, which consists of 162 plates made of sterling silver.

The  "Silver Quran " - a work of modern art of the XXI century, made by unique technology and perfect by performance. A laconic   language  found, perfect technique, there is nothing superfluous. Eternal lyrics embodied in noble materials , superior craftsmanship sample  of  Russian jewelers,  now preserved forever!

The "Silver Koran" a work of art  made ​​in the Islamic tradition. It is stored not only in Russia but also abroad: November 3, 2010 in the Kremlin, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev presented the page of  "Silver Koran" to  Emir of Qatar Hamad bin Khalifa Al -Thani;  July 6, 2012,  President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev  gifted  a complete set of "Silver Koran" to the   mosque "Hazrat Sultan" in Astana; January 30, 2013 on behalf of  the Russian President Vladimir Putin one page of the  "Silver Koran" was presented at the 75th anniversary of the President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov.

This project is a continuation of exhibition  of  collections silver stamps  "Mecca in silver ", held at the Museum of Islamic culture in 2013.
